Reese Boyd III, Chairman

Reese Boyd III is a Myrtle Beach attorney, managing partner of Boyd Law Group, and a longtime conservative leader in Horry County and across South Carolina. He currently serves as Chairman of the Horry County Republican Party, a role he has held since 2022, and he was re-elected to continue leading the party’s work to strengthen grassroots organization and unity.

 

Over the years, he has also served as Vice Chairman of the Horry County Republican Party and as the SCGOP State Executive Committeeman for Horry County. His broader public-service résumé includes three terms on the South Carolina Statewide Public Charter School District board, as well as leadership roles with the South Carolina Club for Growth, Palmetto Family Council, and the Alliance Defending Freedom Foundation.

Before returning home to South Carolina in 2001, Reese served as legal counsel to former Governor Carroll A. Campbell Jr. in both Columbia and Washington, D.C., and later as vice president and counsel for Liberty Financial Companies in Boston. Since returning to South Carolina, he has built a respected law practice focused on civil litigation, trust and estate disputes, constitutional claims, and insurance and aviation matters, while also earning recognition for pro bono work defending religious liberty and constitutional rights.

 

Reese lives in Murrells Inlet with his wife, Lee, and their two children, Leila and Reese IV. In addition to his law practice and political involvement, he is also the host of “Saturday Morning Coffee, the Reese Boyd Radio Hour,” heard on Talk 94.5 FM and as a podcast.

Cathy Farish, Vice Chairman

A seasoned activist with over 40 years of dedication to the conservative movement, Cathy serves in multiple key leadership roles within South Carolina. In April 2025 she was elected as the Vice Chair of the Horry County Republican Party (HCGOP) and in December 2025, she was elected as the 1st Vice President of the Horry County Republican Women’s Club for a two-year term.

Cathy’s commitment to her local community is further reflected in her role as the Executive Committeeman (EC) for the Carolina Bays precinct. Her political journey began in the late 1980’s, when she served as the inaugural Chairman of the Cherokee County Young Republicans, marking the start of a lifelong career in grassroots advocacy.

​

Known for her hands-on approach, Cathy has spent years as a grassroots activist, making thousands of calls on behalf of local candidates. During the 2024 Presidential Election, she served as the HCGOP Representative to the 2024 Victory Office, working directly alongside the Office Director to coordinate local efforts. Her strategic leadership is informed by a distinguished professional career, including 20 years of service with the Central Intelligence Agency.

A native of South Carolina, Cathy has been married to her husband, Victor, for 34 years. She is the mother of Victoria (married to Wallace) and Andrew, and a grandmother to Wells and Warren.

John Griffith, State Executive Committeeman

John “Griff” Griffith is a dedicated public servant, decorated veteran, and seasoned meteorologist whose career reflects more than four decades of service to both his country and the Horry County community. A lifelong Republican, Griff currently serves as Horry County State Executive Committeeman, where he represents local interests at the state level and brings a steady record of conservative leadership, operational experience, and commitment to grassroots values.

His legacy of service began with a 20-year career in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military, Griff continued serving the public through a 22-year career with the National Weather Service, where he applied his meteorological expertise to protect lives, support public safety, and deliver critical weather analysis. His professional background is strengthened by degrees in meteorology, business administration, and management.

In addition to his military and technical service, Griff has also played an important role in local government and party leadership. He previously served as Treasurer of Horry County, overseeing public funds with transparency and integrity, and completed three terms as Wild Wing Executive Committeeman, serving as a direct link between his precinct and the Republican Party.

 

Whether working in government, public safety, or party leadership, Griff remains committed to hard work, disciplined leadership, and advocating for the future of Horry County.
